Default tesco,s 99ron

'momentum' is its new fancy name i noticed , if its a repost sorry guys but ive just put some in the saph and the mid-range performance is subtley noticable and obvious compared to 97 or 98 ron fuels . Its about 7-8pence cheaper too from where i,ve seen locally , what fuel does everyone use ? i,ve always if i can chosen shell optimax but the 99ron has impressed me even though its a supermarket fuel

thoughts anyone ?

cheers Mike

how far is 15mins lol ? i suppose if your filling the tank then it,ll feel better , i only stuck a tenner in to make half a tank or just under to see whats it like so its not even a pure 99 mix . Just makes me wonder if these tesco fuels aren,t as good in other area,s it sure does make mine perform very well

just use shell vpower.

mate of mine tried shell 95 an tesco 99 in her 107 1l shit box lol and doing same journeys the 99 which you'd expect to give better fuel economy was worse by far.

i always use shell and mostely vpower!!

i have always used BP ultimate.... but no one has mentioned bp...
is there something i don't know about bp ultimate fuel or are the others mentioned just preferred favourites or simply better fuels?

i use V power, don't have a tesco's locally, closest one is about 30 miles away i think!
I usually put it in at Pod though, and my saff runs nicer on it.

Told you it was good, didn't I mike, well worth the money.
I've been on the rollers with BP Ultimate, Shell V power, Tesco 99, and saw differences.
Ultimate was no better than most cheapo fuels, even when mapped, tesco 99 was not far behind V power, but very noticeably better than ultimate, esp lower down, and mid range, V power was better eveywhere.
I also found over 2 months that consumption increased when using ultimate.
I'm talking less than 5bhp difference, but it is there repeatedly, mine seems to run smoothest on tesco 99, but performs better(just) on V power, I use the V power map, but will use tesco 99 if not near a shell station, normally a 30 mile trip for me.

shell v-power is the best imo. tesco is the same as esso most tesco petrol garages are run by esso and they get the fule from the same refinary..

This is very true Ive worked in the refineries around hull in the North East and I cant remember if it was Total or Conocco Phillips Refinery but there was a lot of various different supermarket fuel tankers in and out of there filling up all day!!

True, its however the additives that they don't normally add to the tanks with the supermarket fuels. I always get better MPG with branded fuels than supermarket fuels.

On an N/A car I really can't see there being any noticeable difference on a higher RON fuel, it will run best on what it is mapped for, if it is mapped for 95 then there is no point paying any extra for 99 etc.

seems as if the consuption is a factor and the additive side of things

I,m lucky by the sounds of it only 2 miles to Tesco,s here

I disagree, my car gets detination in 5th with BP fuel but fine with tesco's and V-power.

I use tesco most of the time cause its closest to my house, but if im ever near a shell then always use V-power, Do agree you get more miles with shell fuel

V-Power is 99 RON also. Always fill with V-Power as my car was mapped on it but I have an Esso near me also and put Esso Super 97 if strictly necessary. Ultimate is a rip off and don't feel as perky as V-Power to my mind.
