Evening all,

Just after a bit of sensible advice really ive just sold my e46 M3 which i have been using daily and replaced it with a boring Saab 9-3 Vector and a TVR tuscan (which only comes out at weekends)

My problem is driving the tuscan on a sunday then jumping in the Saab on a Monday bores me to tears!! Im after something a bit more special than my shonky Saab! Ive owned pretty much every genre of car and have no blinkers what so ever so im all ears. I am swaying towards a tidy st3 saff though
IF i can find a decent one are they reliable enough as a daily driver? Otherwise im thinking evo 8/ Scoob P1 etc etc not fussed on fuel economy as its only a short journey to work and back i just need something a bit lively!!

Agreed, or an ST which is cheaper to run than and RS, though can't really fault the RS

what made you buy the saab? what about a e46 330!

 

focus st3 with a big intercooler and remap plus air filter and exhaust you will be happy with that

 

Emmm i guess budget i dont really want to be spending over Ł8000 i did think of the focus but i just dont like em the mrs loves em but i ust dont. If i had my way it would be a moonstone 3dr but she hates them. At the mo im swaying towards the evo 8s.

I forgot to add i want to be able to do the odd track day in it also...

I would go for the evo8 imo or an m5 if you can find one for that money but not really gonna be a track car.. the evo for an all round car but i do like jap ...

 

Done track day in evo 8 last week and i hate to admit it was a cracking car i was just trying to keep u on ford road mate lol

 

get a panda faced M5 (can't remember the E number )

 

you could get my 2001 mint E39 M5 for Ł8600


although if only a short journey probably not the best day to day car. (some will argue otherwise)

evo 8 would suit ya fine with that budget.

 

Cheers all i think im settled on the evo now i think. I dont really like the e39s tbh i had a 540 sport a couple of years back i know the m5s a different league but would feel like a step down coming from a convertible m3 imo.

Agree, i reckon evo's have had there day. Everyones got one nowadays.

 

If you were thinking of a Subaru, i'd say you'd be wasting your cash on a P1. Would be much better off with a Type R variant then use the spare Ł3k for track mods.

S2000 is another good shout if you fancy something different and you'll easily find one for Ł8k.

i got a 01 impreza wrx which isnt the quickest thing in the world but the amount of car you get for your money they are great value.
i was after a saph cozzy but after looking at some i started to want something a bit newer.
