Default Alcon Plate with AP Cover/Basket

Needing a clutch in the Cossie.

Got a 2wd and after reading a couple of posts on here it looks like people with 300+ bhp are running Alcon plates with an AP cover/basket quite a lot.

Where's best to get each from? Is it easy enough to get a plate on it's own as well as the cover/basket on it's own too?

...what about the thrust bearing?

Cheers

I had OMP paddle and standard plate in a previous Sapph with stage 3.... was lovely and no slippage.

Alcon 6 paddle in mine at the moment but need a new one as it is just about down to the rivets. Debating OMP and AP Cover tbh

Cheers. Apparently made 316.8bhp @ the wheels at AVA, never did get the graph though, will take it down myself next year i think.

Yeah, i know Willie, have told him about it like.

Cool, beware though, there is another white saph with the same wheels going about Aberdeen and would you believe, has a cut down 6 digit A reg private plate too!!! Gutted. What you driving anyway?

WIllie mentioned your car. that's good power at ava if it's right

You're prob thinking of A6 WDM? My mates old car. It's in banchory and it's for sale. It's a belter of a car. Shame its been sold 3-4 time in last 6 months but it's no reflection on the car!

Hopefully see your car for a look sometime.

I have a moonstone 3 dr but everyday car is an FRS reg L444 MBB so watch out for me

www.cosworth.info

Something along the lines of this should see you ok.

http://cosworth.info/store/view_prod...d23686246408bc

or there's this nonsense too, but i'd personally go for the AP option

Yeah, well it does feel like it to me but don't have hard proof though.

That'll be the car! I heard it was from Banchory, 5digit plate then, not 6 like i thought, just knew it was shorter than 7. Does look a good car, think Steven owned it not too long ago, is that your mate?

Yeah cool, feel free to have a gander if you see me.... Can't say your plate rings a bell but i'll keep an eye open for you too

AP is in it already, may do, was swithering between Alcon and AP.

Think after having a look at that i'll probably go for the AP now as is slightly cheaper for what seems to be just as capable...

Cheers for the help.

Believe me i know I'm not choosing it because it's a cheap clutch, just trying to weigh up the options and there's no point paying more for what can achieve exactly the same...

If the Alcon is not so heavy on the pedal, is that not less clamping force?

i found the AP 6 plate paddle cluctch to hard on the pedal and as i have had 2 knee ops on my left leg i didnt want something that will give me pain when stuck in traffic.

the alcon clutch made the pedal feel like standard in terms of hardness.
