Well against my usual mind set i thought i'd try out the cheap way to remap through a KMP2000 remap for a stage 1 on the car.

Car spec is Astra 888 VXR turbo, sports downpipe and sports cat, fmic and a K&N

loaded the map on after reading lots of people having no issues turned on all sounded ok. let it warm up and took it down the road.. give it alittle right foot and it went well changed up early and gave it alittle and it started missing popping and now its tapping like **** (engine light on).

The tapping is i'd say half engine speed, coming from Cylinder 1 around the cam belt area. Used a compression tester and 1 was showing about 125psi the rest were showing 170-178. Now this could be down to the fact its done 94k im not sure?

took it to a garage and he hooked up the diagnostic saying it was showing a crank sensor fault.

I've had the cam cover off and tried to locate the isse and i'm thinking it could be a broke valve spring... though is this common not heard of this or is it more serious and a cracked piston?

though if it was a piston i'd have expected it to run like shite it idles prefect and normal driving is ok but when applying power its coughing missing etc.
