Thats what I said earlier in this thread before it was on, the fact is the M3 was less powerful and was slower IF they had the right car as the E30 was the contemporary NOT the E36, Jezza said this to him on the show and Hammond said that he could not get one for the 5K budget hence why he got the E36.

But was the challange not to buy a 4 door family saloon for under 5k?

IIRC the E30 M3 was only 2 door...........

I just thought in the shots of the 3 cars together the saff just stood out from the rest. I love 2wd saffs with the standard lights n bonnet on.

i wanted one for years years, way back when my mates dad had a 3 dr cossie... but id settle for a saph as have kids....................lol
