its interesting to look at,
i'm not sure if i like it,

I just don't feel it deserves the rs500 tag.

As others have said the matt black finish does it no favours at all. As much as i like the Mk2 FRS in the other colours (especially green & white), i think from the photos showing the Mk1 FRS & the RS500 i prefer the look of the Mk1.

Does anyone know what the quality of paint would be under the wrap? If it does have a Panther Black paint job under the film would it be possible to remove the film and have a nice shiny paint finish?

What was with the one at croft which was a blue one with the vinyl on it? Did someone do that themselfs or was it a ford press car or something?

Didnt have the badge inside either tho had the red leather seats and all in it.

Glad i took pics with the FRS 1 in now! I was all up for this when the press photos came out but now i'm a little bit disappointed that they didn't try harder to make it more unique. Still a nice car but i would prefer a normal FRS 2 and pocket the change.

I just think the mk2 rs in general looks to fussy. The front grille doesn't need those random dividers and blanked-in bits. The vents look stuck on. The boot lid has too many lines in it - why can't the window and panel meet nicely, rather than at a massive ridge? Vents next to the fog lights and fog lights not in-line with the bumper?

And on the 500 the fussiness just goes completely against the image the matt black gives out. I'm not a fan.

+1.

I'd buy a nice green or white one and then spend the change on the Mountune upgrade.

The rs500 in a nice car, but it's not a true rs500. The thing that pissed me off the most is the fact that you pay 35k for 345bhp which would have been ok apart from the fact the mountune kit came out for the standard rs, so you pay the extra 10k the matt black foil covering, which is abit hit or miss tbh, uk cars won't even get the red leather!!!
Ford will make an extra 3million or so selling the 500, but that's small change to them. The mk1 rs was sold at a loss of 5k each so why coulnt ford do a limited run of 500 cars at a loss and make them into the legend that the sierra rs500 was?
God that feels better, I've had it on my chest since I first seen them

That car is featured in this months Evo magazine (in a feature comparing it to the new Cosworth Subaru and RS comes out as the best).

This is probably the car that I saw parked at the teddington studios covered in dirt a few weeks ago as I later found out it was the pistonheads hq prob a press car.
Saw 3 of them at goodwood today the matt black looks shit in the flesh I was really dissapointed with the finish they look better in the pics than when you see one infront of you. On the plus side the fucker sounded like a jet off the line not as good as the f1 cars I got to perv over though!

My partners son went to Goodwood on Thursday and he said he thought they looked better "in the flesh" than in the magazine pics. I suppose some people will love it and others will hate it. Personally i don't particularly like it but i have only seen them in magazines and on the internet so might change my mind when i see a real one. If anybody else has seen this months Evo magazine, what do you think to the Cossie Scooby? I think it looks shit.

Looks like the big chav monster has made love to it.

Why anyone would buy one of these for £30-40k when you can buy a 996TT for the same price and have class + more performance is totally beyond me.
