Depends on individual brands, most dot 5 have a LOWER boiling point than dot 4(not all though) with around 270C being typical for dot 5 and 300C typical for dot 4.
DOT5 was NEVER intended for racing, it was actually needed for COLD climates where it has better low temp viscosity needed for cars with esp in cold climes in particular.
Much better off to use a fast road fluid such as tarox road race for example.

Thats the one - also available as ATE 200, sames spec as the super blue, but orange in color for easy change

ok the DOT spesification is to do with NOT absorbing water, which boils under breaking as things get hot ... the steam in the system causes spongy / no breaking.
Breaking is converting kinetic energy into heat energy! so stopping a tonne plus of car from 150mph = lots of heat. castrol make somthing called SRF and it is supposed to be in a class of its own.

So when putting new fluid in does it matter if it mixes with old fluid in the lines or do you have completely drain it? and (how????)
