Default anybody recognise these denso coil on plug's on this cossie engine

I want to use coil on plug when i get round to doing the engine build for the jwrc fiesta and the coil on plugs i have seen on cossie's before need the rocker machining out and taping etc etc and its a fair bitt of fluffing about so put me off,

BUT.......i see these on a julian godfrey engine when i was at lydden hill watching the rally cross at the weekend and they are exactly what i am after, i will ring julian to ask him if need be and to get a price but as im not ready to buy them just yet i thought id ask on here if anybody knows what they are from?

Presume it's a balance bar off the throttle bodies so you get a common map reading (among other things) for all cylinders, not just 1

It's not a filler cap, it's welded over then machined to that finish as the engine is dry sumped,

Julian wants Ł65 a plug for these ones

Think yaris ones have a mouting lug rather than an interference fit

i read somewhere that the Denso 129700-3881 or Honda 30700-MBW-61 only takes a spark plug with a threaded top? is that true? as that will limit spark plug options

They look like 2 pin DENSO motorbike coils as found on virtually all modern bikes (there all the same) from what I've found between manufacturers.

I used them on my engine about 6 years ago and they worked OK but I changed them for a different type in the end

They are Capacitor Discharge Ignition so will require an amplifier to work correctly

I got some Magnetti Marelli ones that are inductive for Ł45 each in the end

are they part number 099700-070?

And also do you know if they take a normal plug and not the threaded top plugs, i assume they accept normal kind as they are secured to the rocker cover via a bolt,

yes they are inductive, and they will take a std plug.

the hardest thing i found to get when i decided to use them was the multiplugs, could get the pins for the plugs, just couldnt get the actual plastic sockets. got sorted in the end though.

Can you run these off the weber marelli p8 running waste spark then? Or do you need a ecu with coil drivers or something?

These look similar http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AEM-C...Q5fAccessories

is there an advantage using the gsxr denso ones against the honda type, the gsxr version are only around Ł10 each which would make a cheap conversion

The gsxr type require a seperate driver unit to fire them whereas the honda Toyota units are all in 1

Default coils

We use the denso ones because they are reliable with 3 bar of boost.
They do need mods to the cam cover and we machine the plug tops down or use Denso plugs as a cheaper alternative...
Nothing secret about what we use just ask us directly.....
