My laptop at work connects to their wireless network automatically, it uses the Dell Wireless WLAN utility and uses a WEP key. I want to connect my phone to the wireless to save using my monthly data allowance. How can I view this WEP key? In the utility it’s all greyed out. Is there a file anywhere that keeps a log of the keys used. I’ve already asked the IT lad for the key but he won’t hand it over for a private phone, Gaylord! Any other way of getting it without resorting to booting up a linux cd and using aircrack etc?
Any help very much appreciated
thanks

cheers for that Dan, tried that but it brings nothing up, think the problem is that this laptop doesnt use the windows wireless zero configuration to connect, it uses the dell wireless utility instead.

I think you'll need to run a wep key finder, but I wouldn't do that on a company laptop to be honest, all I did was punch into google finding wep key from windows registry and that was the first link that came up, try something similar I guess
