anyone into or own a old school (pre 80's i guess) american muscle car?, always had a soft spot for these,

when i was young there used to be a dealership at the top of my road that done muscle cars but for the life of me cant remember their name (it was on the old a13, now a1306 opposite dagenham ford plant on the border of rainham/dagenham if anyone can remember it!)

theres a pontiac firebird on auction tomorrow, 1974, no idea what it is worth and body isnt that nice (read - pretty rottern) so not going to go mad on the bidding

i dont know why but no matter how much people try and talk me into them, i really cant get into the old american tanks. all the baracudas and cameros etc. just big, lazy, basic things with old truck engines and the steering wheel on the wrong side. :/

Friend of mine has got a Pontiac Firebird Daytona 400, its absolutely immense!! 7/8ltr V8 naturally aspirated, does high 12's at the pod i think!!

Goes well for how big it is, takes up nearly 2 parking spaces in length! LOL!!

Went to view a house on Saturday and there was what looked like a 1972 ford mustang in the garage that needed some TLC. going for a second viewing this Saturday and will get some pictures up but hopefully can sort out a deal where the car is left with the house!

Love the American muscles, only have to be in one for a full bore standing start to fall in love with them. Its all about the noise!

I once saw a mustang online and the owner spent thousands on the steering, brakes and suspension so they would work on our roads (even converted it to rhd iirc). I must try to find that pic

I like my cars to be metal I used to do Corvette Club track days
I was out once in my mates Mach 1, he mounted the central reservation which scared the crap out of me as I was the passenger (on the right) and he wasn't used to LHD I thought I was gonna die. The car gently popped up the kerb (the A10 at about 60MPH!) and calmly dropped back down as it was so soft and mushy it didn't bother it I was relieved to say the least and the second time it happened it didn't scare me. I've always enjoyed driving a yank tank but would rather admire and roadtest than own one
I think they look wicked though. American Graffiti is a top film IMO

my dads 1962 ford t-bird.
we have restored this over the last couple of years....been a pain at times but an awesome thing to drive.i was out in it last week in the sun behind an 08 911 cab and everyone was looking at the t-bird!(except me!)
