All the stick I took for saying Rooney was over-rated, think his dismal tournament backs that up.

Rooney was on the periphery at best, got no assists, never looked like scoring. Even missed a sitter from 6 yards out.
As for Woods, he's done it all at the top level before, Rooney hasn't.
