Hi All
Well the rac have just got me home (last nite)

I pulled off from an island and heard a little pop from the engine , lost power and pulled into Mcdonalds , thank god lol .

Anyway turned enging off and had a look under bonnet , couldn't see anything so started it back up and tryed to rev it and there was loads of white oily smelling smoke coming from the back of the car and also from round the turbo area .

Switched it off and rang the rac , when he got there he checked all the boost hose's and couldn't find anything so i tryed to start it and it was struggling to turn over as if was hydrolised*

Anybody had this problem before ?? has the turbo oil seal gone ??
Why would the engine be hydraulically locked ??

The car is a 54 plate 2.0 tdci 130 with 154k miles

Any help appreciated

Have posted on meg as well so hopefully i should find something out .

Cleaned that out not long ago

Dont think that would cause the smoke or kinda lock the engine tho .

Keep hold of the 'black box' on the turbo. They fail and aren't sold seperately. You could get decent money for it.

Here's a couple of pic's of the inlet housing compressor

Wonder if i can rebuild it with some chemical metal ?

Been looking about and some places don't reccomend a recon turbo for the electronic variable vain one like i have yet transit parts sell the recon variable vain one on ebay for 500 with a 6 months / 6000 mile warranty or there's one on there for 750 with 12 months warranty , as i do about 30k miles a year i think the latter one for 750 would be the best bet .

Also i need an intercooler as i cant be sure i've got all the debris out of mine but i think there some of those on the bay as well .

What an expensive weekend its turning out to be .

Also i've sent for a decat pipe so hopefully that will release a couple of horses extra as mine has been remapped as well .

.

Think the dog would of swallowed it and shat it out better than it looks now Matt lolol

An intercooler off ebay , 2nd hand is only 60 quid so well worth it to save a Ł750 turbo , i hope .
