Focus TDCI cam belt, DIY ??
Hi,
My Focus is coming up to 100K and needs a cambelt. My local stealer wants £250 to do it but I can get a cam belt and tensioners kit for £60.
Is this a simple job that I can do with no special locking tools (cam, fuel pump etc) so long as I take care not to mess up to timing between removing and fitting the new belt ??
I did one on my astra years ago and just marked the old belt and pullies before I took it off, transfered the marks onto the new belt and job done in about 30 mins..
any other tips on how to do it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

PassionFord Post Whore!!
If you've only ever done one I would say you are safer paying for it to be done.
Get another price from an independent or cam belt specialist, I'm sure it'll be less than £250.
