Default Focus St mk2 help!!

Right guys,

Bit of a problem here my car is tuned to 300bhp with a induction kit, downpipe, sports cat, remap and a intercooler.

It's been into ford twice for an oil leak in 2 weeks, 1st time it was a oil gasket housing diaphram that cost me near on £500 to get sorted (including and oil and filter change) - a week later it's was still dripping oil and when I checked it only had a smidge in the car, so I took it back and they said it was an o-ring seal on the return pipe of the turbo which they sorted, since then it has dropped boost pressure to half - so i've sent it back and they now say it's got nothing to do with them and they wont touch the car cos it's modified!! It really annoys me as it was fine with turbo pressure until they looked at this o-ring thing!! AAAARRGGHH!!

If you drive along with the window down you can hear air venting when the turbo kicks in - which it has never done before

So I need help please guys! i'm stuck now, does anybody know any good and reputible focus st tuners in the North west and what do we think it is?

I though it was just a boost pipe that had dropped off from when they fiddled with the turbo but not according to them!! Grrrrrr

The diaphram is known for splitting on these and it causes a high pitched whistle and a loss of boost.

If the diaphram is fixed...

I reckon they have loaded the ecu with the original map as this is done by default on the Ford WDS system sometimes when doing diagnostic checks

Did you get the old diaphram back when it went in initially?? ...wouldn't surprise me if they sacked off changing it/wanged in a replacement quickly and just melted your car down some local roads instead. A 300bhp ST is going to be a good job to get instead of Granny Smiths 1998 Ford Ka coming in for its annual service.

Cheers,
Grant

When you have been giving mine a fucking hard spanking and its really nice and warm you can hear the turbo spooling up and a bit of chatter too. Noticing it more with the warmer weather lately. Did you try putting the standard map back on with the dreamscience before you reloaded your tune back onto it? Certainly sounds like you don't have the right map on it, if a boost pipe had split it probably wouldn't boost at all and it would chuck up a fault code.

Any way went to see big Geoff @ CSG last night and besides calling me an idiot for going to ford he said he'll have a look at it on Saturday So fingers crossed he can sort it out

Another way to check if its got ford's software or the dreamscience on it is to see if your shift light works?

When mine was all standard the shift light wasn't enabled, but with the dreamscience on there it enables it. Comes on at about 6000 rpm if I remember right?

yeah I tried the load the stock tune then reload the performance map last night and it made no difference - the stock tune still boosted at 0.5 bar!

So I though maybe the dump valve has broken or something? I blanked it off with the ghetto broom blanker I made and during a short ride out you can still hear air escaping from somewhere!!

if its pro-alloy it wont be split, never heard of any issues with those but if its the code red copy you may well have an issue, has there been any esp system failure lights displayed?

Certainly sounds a boost hose issue to me,they're the same engine as a Volvo I believe and i've just removed a turbo on one this week.from the airbox into the turbo inlet pipe via a big connector where there's loads of little pipes which are boost related, anyone of them could be split with ease, especially as some of them are really awkward to get at and some heavy handed apprentice may have pulled rather than undone a pipe causing even a loose connection, try down there young man.
