Ford never owned cosworthcosworth was 2 people mike cosgrove keith ducksworth iirc and then now the do performance parts for other car makers but not like in the old days when they done th whole car ie sierra, escort and rs200 they designed there own head and it was also used on 16v gte or the designed it there will not be another ford cosworth
so basicly cosworth is an independant company unlike ford, vauxhall, subaru etc etc

I know they were a separate company but I thought they had been bought.
They make a lot of stuff for Subaru's now so it seems a logical step for them, shame there won't be another Ford Cosworth in the foreseeable future

I cant see them being bought over tbh they will want to keep an open market to all car makers as the do bits for ford but they dont produce a cosworth ford from factory when you see "impreza cosworth"it just mean that cosworth have had a couple of there things used on it

I think its actually Mike Costain. Aside from that, Cosworth split into two companies in the 90's/early 2000's - one being Cosworth Racing, and the other I forget. I think Ford owned one of them, but subsequently sold them off.

Ford did own cosworth, but not when the cosworth road cars were made.

Just to point out who did start Cosworth .
The Cosworth story begins in the 1950s when Mike Costin and Keith Duckworth who both had a deep interest in motor racing, started tinkering with Coventry Climax engines.

The thing about the Scosby (get it?) is that for less money you can actually build a 2.5 producing more power and a lot more torque. Using engine halfs from 09 plate cars, unused halfs, seconds, what ever you want really. There is a very competent engine builder who used to work for Cosworth who will build a forged bottom end using what ever bits you want. There's Cossie heads, AVCS heads, 2.0 heads, ported, machined, untouched, which ever way you want it. There's Cosworth head studs, ARP head studs which are supposed to be as good and cost less but the Cosworth is proven but then so is the ARP. Cosworth head gaskets. Cosworth timing belts. It goes on and on. Basically it's nothing new really. Some people who make a load of engine parts decided to bolt a pile of them together and stick it in a car and sell it for a lot more.
