Default Joining army...... any help please :)

Alright chaps,
i need some info on joining the army, but i have asthma so its a no go, but i havent had an asthma attack in my life and compete in MMA so am very very fit.

nobody in the recrutment side of it will entertain me as i use inhaler once a day, can anyone have any inside info on this or gimme a number to speak to for a medical or anything?!

I thought that you have to be 3 years clear of an asthma attack to apply, thats what i was told anyway, dont hold me to it

speak to your doc about coming off the inhaler. Lots of kids have childhood asthma. worth finding out! just dont bin your inhalers yet

I'm afraid they won't take you with asthma, too much of a risk and the medical blame culture along with the negative press the Army would get would not be worth their time.....not saying you would but people do. Also there are LOADS of people wanting to join because of the recession right now and believe me the Army are being VERY choosy....anyone who has discipline/admin problems right now are being shown the door, we used to give people the benefit of the doubt for minor problems but now it's see ya....home to Civvy street.

well all this MMA training i got no choice and it aint so bad

Warren, 4 years before im clear tho, ill be way too old then lol
Maby just see if i can ring them and get a number for a medic or summat?!

You will need a medical before you join where they will look at your medical documentation and assess what medication and how long you have asthma for. I am currently in the process of discharging a soldier who has got asthma and he has been through a barrage of tests. Like I said in my previous post....very picky these days....sorry.
