Indoor car covers - good or bad?!
Hi all,
I've searched for information relating to indoor car covers, but nothing appears to be on here yet.
I'm looking to take my car off the road for a period of between 6 months and a year. During that time the car will be stored in an unheated garage (both during summer and winter periods). My garage often gets quite dusty when my car sits in it, so I thought it would be a good idea to get an indoor car cover for it.
However, I have heard some people say that indoor car covers often trap condensation between the paintwork and the cover material, resulting in the bubbling of paint. Does anyone have any experience of using them - good or bad? Can this trapping of condensation actually occur?
I'm now in two minds whether or not to cover the car, or just let it get dusty?!
I was thinking of buying a Classic Additions cover - are these good, or can you buy better ones?
Thanks,
Agar

It Wasnt Me!
Have no experience with covers Richard, but how about a thin cotton dust sheet, basically to just prevent dust building up on the bodywork, but light enough to breath and not trap any condensation?

I've used cotton sheets before, but the problem is that they flail around in the wind slightly when the garage is open (its a double garage where my fathers car is also parked). When they flail around dust and grit can get under the sheet and score the paintwork - it happened to my Fiesta, I don't want the same to happen to the Golf.

Its best to have an indoor cover mate my garage is unheated but quite well vented, I get the odd patch of condensation but the discs don't rust up which is a good sign, de-humidifier is the kit if you want to go completely bufty
My car is off road six months of the year and sits under this cover by classic additions, originally bought for my mk 2 granada but kept it when I sold the granny
