Default Insurance recommendations...

Is there any insurers people can recommend, good on price and customer service, ya know a real good all rounder?!

Im 25, been driving over 7 years, will have 4 years no claims when it comes to renewing in June.. (and i only have 4 years, as when i was younger, and was constantly changing cars (im on my 9th!!!) i changed insurers each time, and of course didn't gain any no claims! )

Can anyone tell me, what mods have to be declared?! I know that sounds like a silly question, but the things i have had done to my car, are all pretty minor and cosmetic only, i know my current insurer wanted to know about my tinted rear lights, dashbulb light changes , exhaust even tho it makes no difference to the performance...!?, just all small things, am i better just making sure all is listed or....can someone advise me on that please?!

Thanks

Whatever insurer you go with declare any mods you have, that way in the event of an accident they won't have any reason not to pay out. Better to be safe then sorry.

Oh and 9 cars by the time you're 25 is nothing. I've had 18 and I'm only 21.

Believe me I could've had more, just wouldn't have anywhere to live!

That averages 7 a year since you were 17! (assuming all were road legal etc.) I'm on 4.5, got some catching up to do...

Always found Tesco among the most reasonable for "normal" cars and including all manner of modifications apart from serious performance ones.

you could try Brentacre they dont care what mods you do to the car aslong as you keep to or below the power you declare your vehicle to have.

I never really bother insuring my mods tbh i no its silly but i have a escort van with alloys and tinted rear light not declaring them shoots up from £400 to £700!!!

My xr3i cab just has white rs alloys exhaust and uprated brakes and pipercross so no real mods as such! I no people driving round in proper kitted cars and different engines and insure them standard and they seem to get away with it!!!

surely tho, if ya dont declare them wont they then turn it round on you, if ya in an accident and make ya insurance void for not telling them of those small things?!

this is why im seriously thinking of makin sure they know every small detail!!! can't be thrown back in my face then can it!!!

The quote from greenlight was with everything mentioned! altho im sure tesco was cheaper than that last year! lol

Not only is it incredibly stupid it also means you have no insurance. You're worried about it shooting up £300 try getting cover after having a policy declared void.

Just got my renewal letter throught the post...

£358.05 before the interest for paying monthly!

so renewal was cheaper than greenlight, imo that sounds like quite a good amount!? am i right to think that?!

it does not necessarily mean your insurance is void.

Not until they requote and tell you they dont insure modded vehicles anyway lol.
