A question re 720p and 1080p!

Default A question re 720p and 1080p!

If i watched a 720p film on my playstation 3 that is set to 1080p am i getting a better picture or the same or am i best setting to 720p? I realise running 1080p on std def films get upscaled.

what type of film? i.e what media, SD DVD, HD DVD, Blueray, etc etc

It won't be a better picture, just larger. All up-scaling does is stretch the image across the appropriate number of pixels. If anything the picture would be worse.

P.S set it in accordance to what you are watching.

as said, you wont see any difference to be honest to so either will do.

dependant on size of screen obviously, buy anything below a 50-55" i wouldnt worry.

as long as the source material is good, and the tv is good, the picture will be good.

I have left mine as it is, set to upscale when needed. My 42" tv runs at 1080p, a lot of 1080p blu ray's are mkv's which are silly sizes, Ima, source MP4 files as they play straight on the PS3 fine
