Default Working From Home? Anyone on here?

My wife is looking to start working again but only one of the kids goes to school, the other is with her all day at the moment.

She has looked around at other jobs like barmaid and chefs etc etc but there is nothing too local that is only nights.

We thought about superstores aswell but seems like there isnt a lot around at the moment.

I know a few of you on here work from home, Was it not Rich Bloor (sp) that was saying how good the company he works for are?

Arte all these just a scam, to be honest thats what ive always thought.

Not trying to get rich she is just trying to get back into the job world after having kids.

cheers guys

Any ideas would be great.

mate i have no idea.

I was thinking possibly buying loads of old toot from bootsales etc etc and putting on ebay lol.

action figures like old turtles are about 10p and there are some on ebay for a fiver!

she was a P.A for a finance company before she had kids and when i met her ten years ago she was a hairdresser but she really does not want to go back into hairdressing.

she has some computer and typing courses but she worked her way up in her company more than gained qualifications.

she just wants to feel like she is bringing some money in.

I used to work doing avon, you can earn a bit out of this but you also have to pay for the books/bags which at the moment is just over 3 pound for five does go down a bit depending how many books you do buy..

And then you need to get orders over 80 before you do earn anything..

My wife's friend makes pocket money by buying kid's clothes and shoes at boot sales, and selling them on eBay. But selling general tat you find at boot sales is a lot of aggro for not much profit, as so many people do it.

Has she got any other skills she could sell on eBay, as it doesn't have to be a physical item to make money - My wife makes decent money by doing this.

Thanks Dan i thought i saw you mention that before.

We have the software and definitely the hardware to do that sort of thing but unfortunately she has never done them before so would take some learning.

i think your right with the bootsale bit but it was just an idea.

I have seen a job advertised where youre basically cold calling on the phone all day but its Ł6.20 an hour and they pay you for as long as youre on the phone.

Its also bonus orientated as all telesale jobs are.

To be honest sounds a load of s**t to me but does anyone have any experience.

I'm always wary of any 'work from home' type schemes where you're doing someone else's dirty work. Don't think I ever recall anyone actually making money on them, or at least not enough money to justify the time spent.

There are those Betterware type of pyramid selling things, but there's a lot of walking about, the hassle of calling back for catalogues etc, and if the area is oversubscribed you're onto a looser before you begin.

Is there anything she can do with her typing skills? Can she offer a 'service' typing things up, or making people's CVs look nice, or something relevant to the kind of work she used to do?

You may find, if you sit down and have a good chat about it, that there are things that she can do that could be 'sold' somehow. It's just a question of finding something people want, and finding a way to advertise it.

going out is fine at nights and at weekends but there really isnt that much local. There are a few cleaning jobs which she could start with the problem is she does not really need to so shes not exactly keen on doing something she does not like lol.

Women aye!

probably sounds like being ungrateful but i would like to try and get her something she will want to continue doing and not moan about it every day.
