hiya ive just bought a escort si fitted with a 2.0 but on driving it too see how it went i wasnt too impressed really so i checked and it has 2.0 throttle body,2.0 maf,but then i looked at the ecu and its code is d.a.r.k im sure this is a 1.6 ecu please could someone tell me if im right and what i need to get on my next trip to the scrappy any help would be very much appreciated

There should be a sticker on the timing belt cover, one of the lines would read for example BGF 20 AA if it is a 2.0ltr or again as an example NHG 16 TH for a 1600.

it didnt have a cam cover on mate the engine is deffinately a 2.0 but car was a 1.8 standard just cant think why it would have a 1.6 ecu but he did say he had it chipped and mapped so he may have kept the ecu to sell on?
