Fiesta Rs turbo gearbox issues
Hi all really need info on my gearbox ! I've recently fit a b&m quickshifter and I think am starting to have gearbox problems ! When I come to a roundabout and drop into second etc I have noticed the box whines !alsoon tick over the gearbox makes a tiny rattling noise but then dissapears when the clutch is pressed.
I already no my clutch release bearing is buggered from the noise it makes when setting off ! I have a uprated ap paddle clutch ! Wot am wanting to no is how do I no if my gearbox is gonna go bang. It's a standard fezzy box ! And the clutch release bearing is doin my headin ! Is it just a coincidence that I have put a quickshifter in or does that put extra stress on the box itself ! Wot do I do ????? HELP please

The rattling at idle is thrust bearing gone...
Standard boxes are on borrowed time over 200hp, the B&M would of sped things along but won't be the reason. Recon box is about £300 IIRC but if you do have 240hp I'd look into getting an uprated one, CTS stage 1 or 2, or you'll be swapping boxes every couple months believe me
Running a 1600 BTW?

Ah right, fair play look after them they look after you, then break... Stage 1 box has about 190ft/lb torque rating IIRC.
Didn't realise PF had their meet on this Sat, will have to come down Aces not far from me... hope yours makes it!
Good clutch & B&M just weeding out the weak points but like you say; off boost & crusing you should be fine.
