ATTENTION LPG techinitions wanted!!!
Sorry, its not a ford, i understand its a piece of pauxhall shite but i dont know what im doing on this soooo....
right basically ive bought a factory 1.6 LPG gastra for a cheep run about with a snapped timing belt. ive stripped it all dwn to remove the head but i havent removed the inlet yet. ONLY because it states with about 6 warning stickers in the engine bay, DO NOT TAMPER WITH LPG CONTROL UNIT. THE UNIT IS UNDER HIGH PRESSURE AND MUST BE ONLY WORKED ON BY A FULL QUALIFIED LPG TECHNITION.
im far from a LPG technition but know my spanner from my rachett. im perfectly fine with a normal petrol car but ive never had ne experience wid an LPG motor and id like to keep all my fingers/hands and not set myself alight if possible
so is there anything i need to do to remove the fuel rail/inlet off the head so i can remove it from the car? im guesing (but not doing nething for seer fact i like my hands) that nothings different from a petrol tank to the LPG tank (ie its all controlled under a valve of sum sort?!)
any advise would be brill, as ive got everything off and only 2 head bolts/+ inlet remaining from stopping me removing the head! ive asked ALL my fully q'd mechanic mates in the trade and none of them have a fooking clue what im on about and havent ever done nething on one of these cars!?! needless to say ive called em all spanner monkeys, and the reason they get paid peanuts is a clue in the name calling and shit im give em!

20K+ Super Poster.
Stop panicking, most is down to health and safety rather than real danger, the tank will have valves on it that once unplugged will not allow LPG to flow, the warning is because it is illegal to vent to atmosphere LPG, but it's a tiny amount, depressurise as you would a fuel system ie slowly, the lpg stinks, and if comes out quick enough will cause freezing, but not dangerously so, I've had to vent 90L before now, the smoke is awsome and the smell is a bonus, in pissing the snotty neighbours off!!
It has a incredibly tiny minute point at which it becomes flammable, millions of times safer than petrol, as LPG needs such a critical ratio to be flammable.
Just common sense don't be afraid, should use fairly std gas type connections, just renew olives on putting back together.

just making sure before i rip it apart (which is my normal method) but as ive never worked on one before and none of my friends/colleges have, so i thought id ask first before doing sumthing stupid and doing abit of damage to either me or the car
thanks again!
