i had a tmobile vario a few years ago, then had a vario 3, loved them, i thought the tmobile phones were just htc phones but rebranded.

are they still windows phones? i keep reading android?
i will have a good read through that forum later.

I've got a Hero, bar the firmware issue which interrupts bluetooth they are awesome and i would never have another make, the Desire looks very similar in the the software to mine.

You won't be disappointed once you find your way around.

Couple of lads at work have them, just seems like a copy of the iPhone, but slightly more modern. Nothing super new to shout home about on them.

Twice the processing power of the Iphone, and blutooth, and also has a flash for the camera.

Running Android 2.1, but seems that something called Fryo is coming out, which apparently will speed up the operating system, making it even more ballistic. Also, flash 10.1 should be available soon.

All I can moan about with my Desire is the loudspeaker is a bit crap.

All in all, for £15month you can keep your very expensive Iphone and enjoy quality instead.

Supposed to be very, very good. I love my 3GS but if buying now, i'd have a tough time deciding.

Arch, but the 3g iPhone is essentially 2+ years old now easily, so I would hope it has double the processing power. Moores law says technology gets twice as powerful every 2 years

I agree mate, have read somewhere that even when the 4g Iphone comes out, it will only be a firmware upgrade required for the Desire to run 4g.

Cannot understand why people still contemplate Iphones when they are so expensive.

There about the same cost, well they are where i looked, but looking at the reviews etc the HTC looks a better buy than the Iphone

I have one, dicks on the iPhone IMO, much quicker, easier to use, really really well set out and just does absolutely everything you want it to.

Apart from that, but it would be good.

theyre very good, its the 1st phone to tempt me away from the iPhone, they just need to fix a few issues with the firmware and it should be excellent, BUT then the iPhone 4G will be out, so the iPhone might still be the one to have

and thats why im hanging on, but you know already the iphone 4g will cost upwards fo £180 to have on an 18 month contract, unless you take out the £70 a month bill where it will be free.

I really love my iphone and my contract ended back in February, but there are so many smart phones now that have incorporated all the iphone has and alot lot more,i really dont know which way to jump at the minute, but i have to say the htc desire har made me think hard about my options.

thats was silly quick

As for the brouser, looks ok, but IMO you need to load opera on to it, to see it run quick i'd expect, tho the desire brouser might allready be based on opera,

as for the key board, need to ditch the HTC one, and get swype running on it, boring demo vid here, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRUoWUhcRlE

Ive not had the pleasure of using a 1000Hz processor 2.1 android phone, i do have a slower processor 1.5 android phone in a draw that was pretty good.

If i wasnt in a contract untill 2011, as said allready i would have a desire in my hand, still might, once they manage to unlock the ROM, so you can flash the O/S with custom ones and no operater crap

they tweak loads in the rom to improve battery life, speed, usability etc
