I haven't been too excited about changing provider, since most use BT Wholesale, obviously other than the Cable providers of course.

(Packet INternet Groper) An Internet utility used to determine whether a particular IP address is reachable online by sending out a packet and waiting for a response, the 57ms in your case means it took 57milliseconds to get a response on your line.

57ms is quite good, wish mine was as low as that.

Can you paste your routers connection details, sync rate etc please.

Also is your router a netgear ?

as for me, i live out in the sticks. I think the speedtest server is wrong, because i was downloading at 335kb/s earlier.

No, we aren't. We are 3 miles from Norwich city centre and I know we can get cable, I'd just hate to jump and find that they are equally shit (whether in connection speeds or other aspects).

I can't see any reason in there for your internet to run like shit. Have to tried running CCleaner?

Not bad considering I'm sharing it with 1700 other people I suppose...
Although one thing that strikes me as odd is if I go to our Microsoft VLA site and download an iso image over http I get trtansfer speeds of around 6 times what it says above.

Because this means DMT Tool should work with your router. It could be as simple as resyncing at the exchange, but anyway it lets you change your line config, trellis etc.

I'm so jealous of how quick you lots can download ZIP files from me though.....

I leave them uploading for about ten hours overnight and then in the morning I can see that a monster Future connection has downloaded it in a few minutes!
