Intresting information.

From a Mazda SAE 20 years ago.

and GT4094R twin scroll vs single on Honda S2000:

Certainly deomonstrates it well on those graphs.

I know sheady saw a big difference years ago when he swapped to them as I spoke to him about it at the time, in fact I dont think he ever uses a single scroll now.

Can somebody explain twin scroll and single scroll differences? Not something I've dealt with but always willing to learn

Here you can see how a divided or twin-scroll turbocharger has two separate exhaust gas entry paths into and through the turbine, maintaining the improved scavenging effect and exhaust gas flow achieved by pairing complementary exhaust primaries on the header.

Two finely crafted, equal-length manifolds from Full-Race, where the divided flange fed by paired primaries clearly differentiates the twin-scroll design (left) from the single-scroll design (right).

Twin scroll can be effective for quicker spool and better torque. The Subaru's have been using it for years on the JDM models. Mine was originally twinscroll, but this hampered it if you wanted a lot more power using stock housings, as this is ultimately the limiting factor. Move to a conventional garrett fitment and rotation, and the world is much more your oyster.

However, already achieving over 600ftlb of torque and 1bar at circa 2800rpm on a single scroll 3076, I doubt I need to worry too much about spool or throttle response to warrant even looking at twinscroll. The next build maybe a different story!

Going from a Single scroll to a twin scroll GT35 housing I picked up 400rpm earlier spool with this manifold.

Why not use the standard 2WD cossie manifold? Or would it of caused a restriction at the power your aiming for?

1 the power the other is making the 2wd one work with the correct type internal or external wastegate.
