Default Cheap Car for Road Trip

Last year we went to the Renault World Series weekend at silverstone. Again this year we are looking to go again and wanted a bit of fun so the idea was to purchase as cheap a renault as we could find, paint/draw on it to make it a bit silly and then drive it there and back!
looked on ebay and everything is an auction which could go as high as people are wanting to spend on such things so this is possible but not preferable as its ebay.

Realistically we dont really wanna spend more that a couple of hundred on the car and it would have to have a bit of mot and tax to be worth while.

Anyone done such things as this before and if so where is the best place to look for sub £200 cheap cars?

Any help greatly appreciated

I know you said you're not a massive fan of Vauxhalls but I did the same thing as you for the GB Rally a few years ago in an old snotter Omega estate.

RWD fun on the dirt tracks plus they're big enough to sleep in with the seats down! Plus you've got a big comfy car for the motorway part of the trip.

Yeah i get what your driving at! My loathing of Vauxhalls is mainly just the corsa/ astra really! I am open to most options just thought it would be fitting to get a renault as its a renault event.

The other advantage of an omega over anything french is you are actually likely to arrive there without a breakdown

If you're going to fuck it up with rattle cans etc. anyway, just paint a big Renault sign on the bonnet, cover it in cloves of garlic/onions/stuff smelling of B.O [I can't think of many French stereotypes today ]!
