Default Injectors out of a Mondeo ST TDCI

What's involved in taking them out, because I want to get them ultrasonically cleaned.

remove the high pressure feed pipes, remove the electrical connectons and unscrew them out of the head. Make sure you mark which cylinder they came out of with something that will not be removed by the sonic cleaning process (not paint, it'll need to be etched on or engraved on).

Are they uniquely coded to each cylinder then Daz? Sounds a right faff about.

if its to cure rough running and smoking on start up its not that simple I dont think.

I am suffering the above symptoms as do MANY others and it seems the only way is to have the injector properly refurbished (new o-ring, valve etc?) and then recoded. Just been quoted £650 by Feather Diesel in halifax (my local delphi agent). I've read horror stories of people having them refurbed cheaper by non-delphi agents and them failing pretty quick after.

I think my above quote includes checking/flushing the fuel system too.

Going to a non-Delphi Agent is a waste of time IMO. Once your injectors start playing up, there's no cheap fix. Recoding them can keep the wolf from the door for a while, but inevitably one, or more likely all the injectors need either refurbing, or replacing.

Feathers are very good. Never had a faulty product/repair from them.

£650 is about right to be honest , i paid £692 to have new ones put in mine and recoded , each injector was £105 + vat i imagine then labour to take them out and put back in which was 1.5 hours and then recode them .

I've also heard that if you just get your own recond from anywhere other than delphi they only last about a year due to not having a new code generated .
