After Volvo's new effort to out do the RS sure they might have a bash at a 4x4 version after the current one plus the 500 have sold like hot cakes

I've heard this before. This is the one that will be powered by an engine and an electric motor so will be 4x4 I think. Quite when it comes I have no idea but the fact it is a hybrid has already killed the idea for me. Never liked electric motors or hybrids.

So not a mechanical 4wd platform, which is what would get folk on here excited about for some reason

So....big heavy petrol engine drinking fuel.........big heavy batteries blunting acceleration and handling - motors aren't light either - and needed recharging, so either plugging in or using more fuel to generate the electricity to charge? Good one.

Saying that I suppose for the amount it'd get used on the rear you could probably charge it through regenerative braking on the front...but that's more weight too....

Didn't Lexarse do one of there big cars as a hybrid, the motor was barely powerfull enough to move it, but this got it into the hybrid tax bracket or something.
Maybe its a ploy to get the tax band down so they can tune the engine and not worry so much about emmissions upping the tax band.
