Default Advice - Buying a Category C damaged car ?

Hi Guys ive seen a car at a decent price i like but its advertised as a Cat C repaired, it says VIC inspected too - the guy says the car had rear damage and needed a rear bumper and bootlid, it looks mint as in the pictures now - whats the pitfalls ? will i get insured on it ok ? is there a price guide for Cat C vehicles etc.... cheers

they are'nt worth as much
harder to sell unless priced right.
it will be the same to insure as a undamaged car
but if you ever need to claim for the car, you won't get paid out as much as a undamaged car. think its around 70% of the value

I usually take bout 25% off for cat d cars cat c a little bit more, just make sure its been done well, depends on the car for the amount of work for the category obviously but cat c for a bumper and bootlid doesnt sound right???? Maybe a whole rear panel, the boot, bootlid, and some work to the rear quarters??? depends on the value of the car pre accident bud

i just spoke to the garage in london they said they fitted the parts the guy supplied, and painted the boot bumper and rear quarter panel.

i've got a 07 focus st which required a rear quarter,n/s door,sill,rear bumper and exhaust and is on a cat d so as above depends on the value of the car pre accident.
what car is it age ect?
