Default saph 2wd rear brake upgrade

HI,

I want to upgrade my rear brakes to 300mm + discs whilst retaining the 4x4 callipers I have fitted.

I know they can be got from Hi-Spec but they want over £450 just for the discs and bells which I think are extortionate.

What I as wondering is has anyone else done this conversation using discs from another car? If you have what car was it?

Basically I want a minimum of 300mm rear discs but would prefer 320mm if possible. The only problem I can see is the width as being rears they are only 12mm???? Vented.

Any help would be appreciated as I need to change the pads and discs but don’t want to waste money on standard only to upgrade later.

Thanks

Adam

Speak to 'Nuts Rus' and get the Compbrake kit, 300mm x 20mm disks, uses the 4x4 rear caliper.

yes i know he will be able to sort me out, however i was looking for a more cost effecive way of doing this conversion as the kit from tony is very expensive.

does anyone know what the cost of replacment discs are without the bells?

Thanks for your thoughts. I wouldn't want to use second and stuff but was looking for buying new single piece discs from another car just as u did when I upgraded the fronts. I just used ebc focus RS discs.

Have spoken to tony again tonight and his prices do seem resonable for a kit and then only £90 per replacement disc.

and if you think about it , the average cars braking efficency is 70/30 to the rear ,

so by rights your rears should take at leat twice as long to wear ,

factor in added size , better quality of pad , and unless you are planning on track use ,

id think it would take fucking donkeys years to wear them down ,

2wd callipers are for solid discs. I dont think anyone produces a larger solid disc as vented is obviously better.
