Default Merc Sprinter van ,help !

Sprinter Mechanics , ive bought a 311 cdi that apprently lost power ,and conked out on the motorway , ive pulled the engine out and see the Dual mass Flywheel has been nibbling the back of the bolts on the rear of the block , do the flywheels give problems ,how do you get them off ???
Anyone keep parts for these ??

should be 8 bolts in the middle of the flywheel to remove it, if i remember the crankshaft sensor picks up off the flywheel so if the duel mass is fooked it wont get a proper reading

you should be able to move the centre of the duel mass around until you see the bolts, if its that fooked it would have been rattling like hell when the van was running

Just move the centre around until the bolts line up with the holes on the top

if it like the transit ones you will have to force the secondary mass of the flywheel round so you can see the bolts. sounds like it has spun round against its other half and locked. may have to hammer the shit out of it to get it to spin back.
