Default Building Standards Advise...

Right need a bit of advise he, if any one can help....

The misses nan lives in a semi-detached bungalow it has a extension on the back been there years, it has a gas fire in the extension and a flue which exits into the neighbors side, who havent got a extension.... now this is the problem

the neighbor wanted to put up conservatory, her nan told them not to block the flue. well as you can guess the builder that put it up has blocked the flue and not told her nan, it was only when she got the gas men round to sort out central heating, they asked her why dont she use the fire, she replied it gives her a headache, to which got him thinking so further investigation by him found the problem, photos where taken and her gas to the fire disconnected.

Now i havent seen the bodge yet, but want to know what shes got to stand on and who to contact??? She just wants it fixed so she can use fire.
Contacted local council but they couldnt give a toss unless it was council house.

Hope people can get there head round it, any help welcomed!

It will have to be altered mate. A gas flue cannot breach your neighbours boundary. .

Ah see what you mean mate, as in exits onto neighbours side by flow not actually ONTO neighbours side!
Thing is , it must be close for a conservatory to affect it, making it not vent and build up inside?

Like i said i havent had a look yet, but from what i can tell from the missis and her mum, is the flue came out of the wall into neighbours side, its been like it for at least 20 years, then last week the conservatory has been put up and fixed to the wall with the flue, meaning the flue would be pumping into conservatory.....

Update while writing this:

from what ive just heard is they blocked up her flue and try bodging in a tumble dryer with a flexi-pipe, so i guess the flue went out and up!

I really need to get round and have a look and get some pic's!
