Went down to Santa pod yesterday in the SAPH and parked her up on the north London / herts group stand, had a wicked day etc etc
i've never been worried about bhp numbers but just to the side of me was the dyno dynamics rolling road so I thought fuck it I ll see what she's made of....
There was a stage one SAPH on before me which made 264 which was about right, I pulled mine up and they strapped her down for the 4 runs....
I was completly shocked at what the outcome was 437.5 with 419 lbs/ ft !!!
Spec is
Standard bottom end / head ( 58k )
greys
t34.48
group a pump
500 cooler
4x4 inlet with 14mm spacer
holding 30psi to the limiter
a1 rallysport l6 chip
I will post the graph up later
what are your thoughts ???

Yes I did tell him that ain't he but he was quite offended when I told him his rollers where out. It was ( apparantly ) around 360 or sumit at the wheels I can't remember, I'm at work at the moment but will post the graph when I get home

It's weird how the car before you made the right sorta power.
And my m8 ran his Capri and they said it made 748bhp but last time he had it on a set of dd rollers it made 770bhp, so they read a bit less for him yesterday. But he said he had a slight miss when goin up the 1/4, he thinks down to plug boots. Not bad tho, he ran 11.2 on 888s with the miss.

if you cause more drag by touching the brakes or something like that when the wheels are slowing down it will give you a bigger bhp result because thats when its trying to work out the transmission losses
phone up and say you want your fooking Ł45 back

I've just had a quick look at the graphs and as much as I'd LOVE to pick holes in it, it doesn't appear to be far out in terms of procedures. OK, so they used Shoot_4F, not what we would do. But strictly speaking its the correct mode. We tend to use Shoot_4, which is for N/A but gives a slower ramp rate and a more realistic boost curve. They used 4th gear, which again isn't quite right, it wouldn't make that much difference.
I can only suggest it lost traction. The fact that the peak in power is almost precisely where it comes onto hard torque, I reckon thats what happened. The power drops after that, which is a shite power curve really. It's not too hard to imagine where the power would have been, had the torque not ramped to 420lb/ft, but to a more believeable 360lb/ft.
Oddly, they measured the Intake Temp at 4° colder than the Ambient Temp. Not quite sure how they did that?!!? In any case, that would have caused a negative compensation.
