the day was made for me while driving there, i had come off a round about and travelled 100 yards up the road when i looked in the rear view mirror and saw a blue flat front mk 2 sideways off the roundabout......i was then saying to my mate bloody hell he's lost it behind me....just as we looked again these two escorts (1/ blue then 1/ red) was shifting passed me faster than anything i,ve ever seen before....hard to tell what i saw with words but it was just brilliant.

The motorway was bad as where I live, Dunstable, saw loads of cossies, turbo's passing through

Even though I didn't go Central Day, usually when we do a Pod day we all convoy up in a big group usually around 8-10 cars and the drive up there is mint having fun on the motorways, roundabouts and back roads.

Thanks everyone yes it was us. My gearbox was on it's last legs as it was and after I got off the M1 it sounded like a straight cut and was awkward to get into gear. I gave it a run and couldn't find 2nd, 3rd or 4th. But still managed an 11.77 lol. Gary ran 3x 11.1s which is his personal best and he don't it short shifting at 6500rpm and 1.5 bar of boost. Maybe with 2 bar it could run a 10. Would be the first escort to run a ten on a T34 turbo and no NOS.

best thing about shows is the convoy 'cough' racing up there lol.i was with essexrsoc and was amazing fun on the m1.i think people were surprised how much my ratty xr2i turbo could keep up lol

Hi Steve, I bought the car in Feb 1996 when I was 19.
It was sitting on a friends drive in walthamstow, it was totally standard. I drove it like that for around 6 months until the oil pump went. It was then that the full resto went under way. I didn't intend to go that mad with it, but my mate Jason was the main influence to 5 link the rear end and cage it.
It's gone through many transformations over the years, from mildly tuned pintos to full race 2.2 HT racing pinto to the way it is now. Although I do miss
the old pinto for throttle response and the noise at 8400rpm lol.
I'm glad I have inspired some people over the years. It makes it all worth the blood sweat an empty wallet lol.
