They rubbish, heavy and not powerful.
They called ST165, ST185, ST205 and ST225, and the numbers give you a "small" hint to the BHP
They not anywhere near as fast as youd expect a 2litre 16v turbo to be.
Shame as i think the 4 round light late shape GT4s look smart

Steve, I think he's talking about the standard 2 litre non turbo GT, not the GT4.
My mate used to have a standard late shape GT4, did a 13.9 at the pod.
Not sure about power of the GT but my old man has one on a K plate (pop up headlight shape) and has done over 200K on the original engine! - no rust either, built like a brick outhouse!!

very easy to break 300bhp with a decat, boost tweak and filter.
315mm discs all round, 4 pot brakes std on the st205. gt4oc is the place for info! the earlier pop up headlights st185 were 200ish bhp and fairly heavy, so not so quick.

I rmember going to a powerstation GT4 rolling road day, the results there made me think the 185, 205, etc etc thing was the std figure as thats the powers they were pushing...

the uk cars (st205 ) were also a bit lower bhp than the jap imports were quoted at (239 vs 255) but jap cars were set for higher octane fuel so prob not much between the two as std.
mines the wrc version with the huge rear spoiler, and came with (non working!) anti lag, water injection and water spray for the chargecooler pre rad!
the st205 is deffo the one to go for, handle and brake very well, solidly built, and very tuneable. couple of them are now in the low 11s 1/4m times in the club.
the fensport cars (ie 600+bhp) are using the standard drivehafts, gearboxes and diffs.

cheap imported cars with dubious history/mileage go from £3,500-5k. at around 60k the front supsension arms do wear out, and are a £700-800 repair in parts alone (very common failure point around that mileage), once done tho they will last another 60k miles. clutch also is expensive as its easier to drop the engine and box in one go, usually £350-500 labour so stick a good clutch in when it needs one.
better cond cars (st205) with a few nice mods go from £5-8k depending on year /miles etc. that would get you say a 60-80k 1994 or 95 car, on 17s or 18" rims, with exhaust and filter mods typically. usually 300bhp approx as well!
couple for sale on the club forum at the mo, 94-95 cars from £5-7k. also a heavily modded one up for £6-7k with 440bhp proven, altho its a stripped out racer look!
