What was the spec on the Brooklyn 2.4 conversion?
Who did the work?
Was it covered on the cars warrenty?

I enquired about this a couple of years ago, if you wan to know more give brooklyn reditch a ring on 01527 521212, ask for roger in parts, he will tell you everything you need to know!
from what I remember, it is a 91mm stroke crank, the sump is modded along with oil pick-ups to clear the extra throw, and it makes 440BHP and 450Lbs/ft but has a usable rev celing of approx 6000RPM

6000rpm? Surely thats more to do with head/cam/turbo spec than anything else?
Or is 6000 the safe limit before the crank snaps clean in half?![Surprised](https://passionford.com/forum/images/smilies/bigcry.gif)
Its like when people do 2litre ZVHs and claim they dont rev above 5500, but its cause they still using a pussy T3 so by time its hit 5500rpm the turbo (esp the exhaust side) is all out of flow...
They put a bigger job on it (.63 T34) and suddenly it revs through no bother.

Before you buy one of these, find out EXACTLY what crank it has in it, as the ones I have seen run the WRONG one (as in a normally aspirated (still steel, so that means nothing
) crank that is only rated at 400lb ft)
. If they have nothing to hide, they won't mind telling you the supplying company and crank reference number.

The problem with lengthening the stroke and keeping the block the same is that the rods get REALLY short. Short rod/stroke ratio engines do NOT like to rev.
You can only make the compression height *so* short before you start running into the ring pack, and after that you're stuck.

I had one up until last year when one of the rods bent it was decided when i rebuilt it i returned back to 2 litre bottom end but i still have the block and crank and rods and pistons ect from the 2.4 engine at home so one day i will prob get a set of rods and pistons made and build back up as it was so responsive and had over 520 lbft really low down
