Insurance prices have gone through the roof now fucking joke. Managed to get a good quote with Flux for mine all mods declared at a wayyy better price than any else by a good £500. My bro just insured a 1.4 Fez Zetec MK6 for £2200 his name TPFT 18 years old new driver. Insurance sucks when you are young. Bell quoted my renewal to be £200 more expensive than LAST year with an extra years no claims and clean year of driving! Madness,

Yeah my insurance went up £300 even with an extra year of no claims. Ended up going with A -plan this year.

All mods declared up to 200bhp and matched price for price on aftermarket parts if the car gets stolen. Fully comp for £630

As for paying £4500 for an xr2, CRAZY!. Statistic's say you will crash or be crashed into in your first year of driving. When I passed my test I bought a mk2 fiesta pop for £50, it had 8 months tax and MOT and cost about £400 to insure! I did bump it as well on the day I passed my test! Parked outside a mates house and left it in gear, went to leave and it jumped into a wall lol. Only put a 4cm crack in the front bumper mind.

yer it's silly prices, but not 4.5k silly! You gotta be a fool to pay that for something. I'm happy with £1200 fully comp for a fiesta zetec s at 18, only been driving a year

If I was you, I would get myself the cheapest little runaround I could buy/insure.
Then find a project, spend the £4.5 a year on the project and make something really special over a few years until you can insure it.
