Default Help ABS Kicking/Pumping all the time

Not a Ford but got a couple of Hyundai's (Elantra & Accent) which are really doing my head in.

Basically: Driving at whatever speeds, regardless of braking or not the ABS is kicking in/priming most of the time and its damn annoying.

You can hear the abs pump which is causing the brake pedal to give a pulsating feel (the feeling you get when you slam your brakes in an emergency stop which causes the abs to kick in)

Having Looked in it:

1.) NO ABS Warning Lights on

2.) Had a proper computer/scanner put onto the car and even had it live road tested with the equipment hooked up.
No codes or errors coming up

3.) Inspected and cleaned the Sensors and Sensor Rings on the driveshafts

Damn korean cars had a daewoo which was giving the same problem and never got that sorted

Ended up taking the ABS fuse out which illuminates the ABS Light in the dash and now the above problems have gone because theres no ABS.

Thing is thats only a temporary fix so any idea what i can try doing to try and fix the above problem?

Any suggestions welcome!

thanks

The front pads were replaced and the discs and all rears weren't too bad. Saying that the accent's got drums on the back...

Thing is when your driving normally not even braking the ABS Pump is fricken kicking in

One of my old cars used to do this, one of the sensors was knackered so it wasn't picking up the trigger wheel so it always thought that wheel was locked, thus activating the ABS.

As it was only a cheap car and a new sensor was more than the cars value to me I did what u did, pulled out the fuse and took the bulb out from the dash cluster.

How did you know one of the ABS Sensors was knackerd?

Did the Dash light come on/scanner pick it up or did you check them pyshically one by one?

If so how do you check for a duff one pyshically?

thanks

Lol i have and was supposed to take it to the dealers but didn't get round to it

When you refer to the trigger wheel do you mean the teeth on the driveshaft that rotates where the sensor is more or less touching?

If so what am i looking out for, some broken or uneven teeth?

The sensor should not be touching it..

And yes, a trigger wheel is a trigger wheel.

Could be anything really. Doesnt take much to interupt the regular signal it provides and cause problems.

Ideally check each wheel with a scope.

Don't know anyone with a scope but guess we'll just have to keep sratching our heads and see what happens
