Default What's your worst mistake at work??

Well today at work it came to light that I made a big mistake working out the schools delegated budgets for property insurance. To the tune of £41k!!

In all fairness in it's just 0.0396% of the overall budget but fook me it's made me shit myself!! Never made a mistake before and I'm a bit of a perfectionist so this has rocked me and totally made me question my judgement!!

What's your worst mistake?

Boring a hole from a shop to owners flat above for a cable, got my angles wrong lets just say!

Hit a water pipe inside a wall in flat, flooded shop, done electrics in due to water!! wrecked the place proper, and and done a bit of the flat mostly stairs/carpet up there and alot of a wall where pipe lived!! my apprenticship wasnt long up and was out doing jobs myself! was a disaster, worst day of my life I think to this day we couldnt shut water off so ordeal continued for 3o minutes of flowing dirty water

think the worst one i ever did was
went in the morning , got my stuff ready to be delivered, but i didn't have time to deliver it all due to having to go into hull so left all this stuff at my mates to deliver later on, then when i delivered it all got home and the boss had been round to my house personally and apparently asking where the stuff was etc and every one had rang up complaining he wasn't to pleased lol!

After doing a refresher course for COSHH, then dropping 1200L of A185 (de-rusting acid) all over the factory floor, while management were on a surprise walkabout, I also got a week off, paid! Was great, sunny weather and I still kept my job!

Machined 500 aerospace parts. 470 parts from one batch of material and 30 from another batch of material. I mixed both batches together. Although the parts were identical and machined correct, because they were aerospace parts full traceability of material is needed so all the parts had to be thrown

Years ago on nightshift, i was moving a few pallets of parts around on a forklift, my pal shouted to me across the warehouse, looked over at him to see what he wanted, not realising how close i was to the shutters, drove the forklift straight into the shutters, bent them, and launched thousands of little parts off the pallets and all over the place. needless to say, the gaffer wasnt to happy when he came in at 6am, especially as i dont have a fork lift licence

The money stuff really doesn't bother me, as its just figures to me but having to throw away all those perfect parts makes me cringe! Gutted!

a mate of mine was be picked on by one of his boss's, the boss kept going
into his lunch box and eating all his food thinking he was realy funny, that
was until he made himself a realy special dope cake that had a hand full of
valiums crushed up in the iceing aswell, he took it to work and waited for his
boss to nick it, to say he had a shock after eating it would be an understatement
as the silly cunt nearly died lol.

Not me but one of my colleagues was working in a data centre in one of the big financial institutions in London. The data centre had electronic entry on the doors. When he came to leave after his first day he had to phone someone to leave, they told him to hit the button near the door. "What, the red one?" "Yup, the red one" came the reply. To which he hit some sort of fire alarm which set off the halon and then shut down the whole data centre.
