Hi , I was thinking about changing the rims on my 3dr cossie and going for a set of comps, cxn"s 17ins has anyone any ideas where would be the best place to get them and what kind of dollars am i looking at . Getting so many different prices
Thanks

dave - speak to martin hadland or mike rainbird as they will tell you what width and offset to use. They also sell them or can order them for you too.
There are also a fair few people running these so they may be able to help also - Paul at north yorks spares has these on his rs500s.
im sure you can also order direct from Compomotive and they are based in Wolverhampton

Another alternative is image, Karl (Bigpower) of here has put some on his 500, and they were much cheaper than comps..

those image wheels look nice but just not as nice as the CXNs as they have more spokes and look more like the std cossie rims

Comps are a very good replacement for centre lock wheels, TCS mentioned the other day that there is some being CNC made so in the near future their maybe a group buy. I know i'd be in for that

My Comps are the old style - brake size is restricted to around 330mm

Going off there site for 7.5 front and 8.5 rear = £1668.50 inc VAT so your still looking at around £2k with a decent set of rubber

Pete - i had a pair of £10 second hand std cossie front discs, std calipers and ds2500 pads and on track it was fine - no brake fade whatsoever.
Altho after a 100mph you do need something a bit more substantial
ds2500 and ds3000 pads are awesome for the bite they give

Got FRS discs and AP 4 pots - with this set-up i won't need to run spacers on the front wheels as it would deffo rub
I found the OE brakes fine at first but after over shooting a few turnings decided it was time to change

Ran,
I've heard good reports about DS3000s, i may just try some of these tbh as i already have a disc upgrad that Ridgey fitted and tbh my car will probably never be a 400+car just a T34 if i do upgrade so i'm pretty sure they'd work/stop fine...

Pete mine was a T34 car and was 400bhp
defo need decent pads - anything after 100mph and your arse starts to sweat when braking hard

the cxn wheels cost around £2250 with tyres, there for the 8.5 rears and 235 tyres.
the best wheels for the 3 door cosworths.

Do they make these CXNs anymore? And more importantly, is there any way to get hold of the mesh center plates for 16'' CXN wheels?
