Default Front splitter!!!

hey does anyone have any serious ideas or experience with making your own front splitter. i want to put one on like the flat touring car style ones. like the ones you can fit on forza 3 on xbox. they look cool. it might not do much but i think it'll make the front look abit meaner instead of the front bumper just coming back under itself and stopping.

any helpful ideas would be much appretiated. useless comments just dont bother!

cheers

Carbon mods do universal splitter kits, just cut to suit.

Gari

If you want to buy the real thing and modify to fit, try touringcarspares, but can be expensive for the real deal !

I have made one in the past out of marine ply, then covered it in fibreglass.

Make a template out of foamboard or card, and see how it looks.

ah cool, do you recon i could get away without fiberglassing it? iv fiber glassed before and hated it. i was thinking some thin ply board and paint it black with high temp paint. its not near anything majorly hot as my exhaust is at the back of the engine and i dont plan on mounting it too far back.

also what do you think would be best, just cutting it in the c shape to just stick out from the bumper or in a D so it extends back slightly?

from what iv read and seen the D shape is best because it helps with air under the front bumper? i know its prob not going to be a major issue as its not a track car with silly hp but i want to do it to look good and atleast be useful in theory lol

The one I made was C shaped, with very basic L shaped metal shelf brackets attaching it to the bumper.
Remember hot air flow from the rad, so dont go back to far !
