Default Does anyone have a tiled garage floor ?

The concrete floor in my garage is a bit rough and ready and I was thinking about using heavy duty ceramic floor tiles to cover it.

Can anyone recomend something thats not going to be too slippy and be strong enough for use with trolly jack etc ?

I really, really do not want to break up the old floor and start again as it is solid, just a bit lumpy.

Edit to add. Are there any thin screeds that would do the job ?

Mark

i was thinking of this but without the amount of work i do they will be smashed in minutes lol, just get some self levelling concrete, its easy to mix up and easy to use and the garage will be spot on flat again, then just pva it then paint it with proper floor paint and all will be sorted or just carpet tile it like im going to do

Exactly what I am going to do in my new garage, skim the floor level and then put some carpet tiles down.

Mines carpet tiles, warm and clean (you can hoover up!). They also take out some of the uneven floor

My garage is 22 feet square tho so i needed LOADS but got them free from a office being refitted

My garage has pink () carpet that we ripped out of half the house when we moved in

It's so much better and "warmer"

I'm a bit worried about thin layers of self leveling floor paint etc cracking if I use a trolly jack ?

One of my mates is a tiler and was going to do my garage floor for cheap , but we didnt know how long it would last in a garage theat gets used to work on cars. I ended up going for plastic tiles that work well but are a nightmare to keep clean.

If anyone is interested in garage floor paint i can get some excellent waterproof epoxy floor paint at competitive rates. lots of colours available, Any oil spills you can just wash down, will not penetrate or leave a stain!!.

Thankyou Neil, they look great without the usual bits that stick out of each side to interlock them
