Almost definitely no bells needed, just the discs, there's two main bells according to spacing/number of bolts on sizes around this, just phone up and ask for some.

so if no new bells are needed, does that mean the pad will hang over by 20mm or the disc will have 20mm not getting used.

if i read that right gus your looking for a 10 mm reduction on your disc size ?

id gues the bell you have would be capeable with that , literally getting a smaller od disc ,

id check the clearance from top of pad to disc and have your brackets machined down accordingly if need be fella

im sure they will be fine, we changed disks on the rear of the escort cos from 315 to 330 and used the same grp a bell, but could be wrong with the new disk and bell arrangement, get some measurements off the 315 disk before you buy if you can

martin @ reyland would advise you best give him a call he wont mind measuring up

either way, yo uwill need to get some new brackets sorted otherwise your calipers will still be further out than you need them to be

or you could have 10 mm machined of the top of the bracket where the caliper mounts , and reduce the length of the bolt ?

335 down to 315 is a reduction of 20mm.

Gus you will need to change the brackets...
Im guessing your rear calipers are lugged not radial mount.

If radial style then you can just have the bracket machined down to the desired reduction as per new rotor.

The bells are the bit that can stay put.

so...if you lower the brackets by 20mm....and the caliper moves in 20mm yes....then if the bell stays the same size....then the pad area on the disc MUST be smaller...hence the pad hanging over.

yes...no lol.

cheers for replys chaps

luca im on about the fronts not rears,

knew the brackets would need to be made again (will keep the ones i have now, so can run bigger disc if i wana)

dave thats why i asked, if moved calliper in 20mm would there be enough room on the disc? or would it hit bell

i will phone hi-spec in the morning, just wondered if anyone knew

Ah that's better, I understand now!
As far as I know the inner radius is the same, so you should be okk depending on the size you have, but as a simple guide i'd measure the edge of the cliper/pad to the edge of the bell, if you don't have 20mm then forget about it.

Dave/Gus the caliper wouldnt need to be moved in 20mm, only 10mm if going from 335 to 315. Think Radius and not Diameter with the caliper.

As for keeping the bells, that depends on the specification of the new rotors and the relevent pcd they require the bells to be

exactly, your losing 20mm overall
thats 10mm top and 10mm bottom, so the caliper will only need to move 10mm inwards.
and i dunno about hispec but wilwood only have to different bell sizes, so chances are youl just need new discs.

With 335mm disks its unlikely it'll be lug mounted Luke

Dependant on caliper choice?

Focus RS calipers are lugged with a 324mm disc

I have just done this (335 to 320) with my Compbrake kit to allow 16" wheels to be used on track.
Speak to NutRus.

If you wish to run the same caliper and pad you'll probably need a 7" bell instead of 8". New disks and bolts.
You should be able to get the caliper bracket machined down to bring in the caliper the appropriate amount (so no new brackets needed).
