Default Need some advice!

Hi guys, fairly new on here.i have a black 5-door Escort gti on a 97 R(chose the 5 to keep the Mrs and baby sweet!).shes really clean where most fail(arches etc),and im lookin to get a little more from her. I considered the 2.0 mondy/focus transplant, but its not a feasable option atm,so have decided on the cam option.i have been told i need 2.0 cams, throttle body,ECU,MAF sensor and manifold from a silvertop,is this info correct, and are there any other bits i will need to make sure its done right??? Any help would be appreciated.Lee (p.s,the boy i got the info from claimed a printout of 143bhp with stainless on,is that a realistic figure??)cheers again

Hi again, forgot 2 say earlier, im not over-fond of my alloys(got couple of pics on profile),they were on when i bought it,and theyre not wrecked, but theyve had a good life before me,and im tempted to go for a set of 16inch Mondy 5-spokes,as i liked the GTi wheels, but always felt that they were a bit too small to really compliment the car. Good choice,or are there better options?? Dont wana go too big, like the handling and shes dropped about 30mm.cheers

Yes you've been told the right stuff.

Basicly with the mods you have said your making it '130spec' which is what the RS1800 fiesta was. Might need to change the ecu to 2.0 depending how it runs.

Some people do the Focus 2.0 inlet swap, ment to be better flowing?

Also 143bhp of that is a little over optimistic tbh.

does the focus inlet manifold fit direct to the silvertop? also does the 1.8 throttle body fit onto the focus inlet ok?

Cheers Wirralphil, been thinkin bout this route after reading bout the RS1800 and 95 XR3i,as i couldnt understand why they would remove power for their only GTi badged car!does the focus inlet differ much from the mondy btw,and thought 143 was a bit much for what he was sayin!tho he has printout 2 prove,so could it be that he is running a chip or different management?,or uprated injectors or something?? That extra 13 had to come from somewhere lol!

And Al i agree bout the mondy 16's m8,been tryin to tempt a neighbour to part with his,but he's a bit sceptical as he isnt sure if mine will look ok on his mondy, and i dont blame him,as i want to change them coz im not fussed on them, they were on the car when i bought it,and they look ok,but i want to keep the car looking standard, and the mondys are the perfect option whilst filling out the arches properly. Would love some RS7's,but not rich enough yet!

Ive got 3 or 4 on my profile i think,no PC at current so tryin to figure everything out on the mobile,MISSIONS!they are there somewhere, If u figure out how to view them(coz i cant),you'll see what i mean bout the wheels, not the worst lookin ever, but the Ford 5-spokes win hands down. Also thought about the ST24 4spokes,and ST170 multispokes, mate has got powdercoated multi's and they look the dogs, but again, cash is key unfortunately, plus the Mrs would skin me alive! One day eh...

Do you mean What is the gti standard?? They are 113bhp standard(105 if your unlucky and got the other spec engine).not sure how much it would cost for fitting etc,but i would guess that if you find a cheap mondy to strip down, you would be well on the way to 130 spec, minus the Focus inlet if you choose it,or if not,a whole mondy engine can be got for £100,ECU's ive seen for bout £30-40 quid, and not sure about inlet. P.S,does anyone know what code the ECU has to be??
