the car failed her m.o.t today on offside & nearside (chassis rail) suspension component mounting, prescribed area is excessively corroded [2.4.a.2]
so its gunna need some welding, ive had a look and it doesnt look like a big area thats corroded, but what do i know lol
if anyone knows a rough 'guidline' price for welding these days, i'd be gratefull, as i dont want to pay over the odds and get ripped of by the local garages

oh, also failed on rear brake pipe corroded, does anyone know where i can get a cheap one online for escort gti

Thing is with Welding, People can charge what they like, So there is no real price when it comes to welding, best to go around a few garages & get a few quotes or even ask a friend to help?

Being a welder myself i've never understood the prices garages quote for welding work.

My old mk4 fiesta got quoted £600 for the area near the rear beam mounts (sounds like where yours has failed) Was a couple of hours work for me to do, but no where near what i'd have to do to earn that amount as 2 weeks wages. Maybe i'm in the wrong job
