I couldn't possibly comment Although customers can occassionaly be 'wrong', that doesn't mean they want to be told so!
Out of the various sets I've installed it'd hard to call a clear-cut winner. So much of the picture quality of a TV comes from the processing and calibration - e.g. a Phillips LCD looks better in a B&O BeoVision 7 than most Phillips sets and a BeoVision 9 featuring a Panasonic professional panel looks better than any Panasonic TV; and whereas a Panasonic plasma may be better for accuracy than the equivalent Phillips LCD, the B&O implementation of the Phillips LCD looks better than the Panny plasma. (Sorry if that's ended up a bit convoluted!)
That said, given free reign, I tend to specify plasmas.

its just been delivered, woohooo!
even that prooved difficult for the poor TNT man who to say the least seemed abit dim.
he delivered it to 236 and im 238,
i opened my door just in time to catch the man leaving. i asked him if he had a t.v for me.
he told me it was the neighbours telly.
to cut a long story short my thieving neighbours tried telling me and the TNT man they had bought it from comet even though its my partners name of the box invoice.
its now sitting safely in my hall way until i have time to fit it all up

ok, it up and working.
1st impressions are WOW! what a great piece of kit.
picture is fantastic. very very clear.
i have the contrast turnt down to just below 50%. still looks awsome.
the only complaint i have if im to be picky is the sound quality.
its 'ok' but not fantastic. looks like i will be buying a home cinema system to compliment the t.v. any recomendations?
i will post pics up when i can be arsed

yep! spot on mate.
i did try to use them but one screw snapped and i lost faith in them after that.
i bought 8 14mm anchor bolts and used 6 out of 8 so its very secure mow, lol
the wall mount i bought is 'ok' it will do the job although its not the best out there. very stiff at the mo. i will need to slacken the bolts alittle.
i cant believe how heavy the mount is. far heavier than the t.v

Glad you're happy with it mate Yeah it's a shame that most of these flat panels have naff speakers... The Samsung LED(yes i know) tv's sound absolutely rubbish.
If you're after home cinema systems there's a plethora of options, depending how much you want to spend! If, on the other hand, you don't want that much kit around, there's the Q-Acoustics Q-TV2 - linky - which fits neatly to your existing tv. Somewhat annoyingly, it's only designed to work with their own bracket. However, I have two units here (some promotion Armour are running) so if you're interested in it I can have a look to see if they'd fit your bracket. Ran one up the other day for a quick test and they do sound pretty good for what they are - it's not a hi-fi but sounds natural and clear. It sort of sounds 'Bosey' but with some midrange!
5.1 wise... some examples:
Kef KHT 2005.3 - Link - £800 srp
Q Acoustics Q-Cinema - Link - £600-£650 srp
Pioneer VSX1019AH - Link - £683 srp
Denon AVR-1910 - Link - Going rate about £390
Just for starters Personally, I wouldn't go for a one-box package - they tend to be restrictive when it comes to upgrading.

well Chris i wont be making my mind up just yet as i have other things which need paying for 1st but deffinately in the next few months i will be looking at making a purchase.
when im ready ill drop you a pm,
my budget wont be stretching any further than £200-£400 though.
im not after cinema quality just something that doesnt sound tiny.
my old phillips tv had cracking sound and superb bass so it is a little disapointing going backwards with sound quality however the panasonic deffinatley makes up for it with picture quality, HD is excellent!
we watched Transformers 2 in bluray last night on my sons Ps3 via a HDMI cable and its amazing.
just need to pick the sound up to a better standard now

PLay with the sound settings, the factory shipped settings made mine sound awfull but with a few minutes tinkering it sounds very good now. Mind you as soon as I got the factory speakers running I then ran it through my surround sound system so haven't used the onboard speakers since July '09

I've just bought a second hand system for my little office - Mordaunt Short 302s and a 308w sub. Cost be £140 all in and sound great in such a small room. You can get 902s (302s bigger brother) for the same sort of money. Maybe have a look at the second hand market if cash is tight? Some good stuff comes up on the avforums.com classifieds section
