Default Clifford Remote Problem

The remote has stopped working and the red led in remote is permanently on.

I have tried replacing the battery inside with two brand news ones but the light stays on and the remote still doesn't work (I assumed it meant the remote battery is low).

Any ideas what the problem/cause is?

It is in valet mode.

What remote is it? 4-button, 5 button with big button @ top, 5 button with Clifford oval button @ bottom?

I don't think it is, as the LED on the dash still flashes, but the one in the remote is just on permanently?

I was getting a low battery warning tone when locking/unlocking the car so I changed the battery, now the remote doesn't work at all.

Sorry, thought you meant the LED in the car was on all the time.

Have you put the battery(s) in round the wrong way? Silly question, but people do it.

Also, have you trapped one of the buttons when reassembling it?

I just took the cover off the remote to check, and tried pressing a button without the cover on (to make sure no buttons were getting trapped when reassembling).

But the LED in the remote is still staying on.

I'm guessing the alarm must be a concept 50(x) does it have 4 buttons and a side shift button if so the most common problem is the main button calapses and either doesn't work or will turn the led on.

Cheers,
Phil
