Cement is cement really?

Use more in your mix if you think it needs it?

Absolutely right - Postcrete is what you want. Goes off real quick so it doesn't take hours to go each post. Mix with ballast dry in the hole after putting the post in, water in, leave 10 minutes and onto the next one.

im just building a 6ft fence right round my garden just now.its hard work.need 8 ft posts and dig down 2ft which is a task.get postcrete from bq Ł3.70 per bag when you buy ten or morethey only come in like 25k bags..you will need 2 bags per post.fill the hole between 1/3 and half with water and pour in the postcrete.simple as that.good luck with it as it aint easy and dont envy people who do this for a living.

As said above, Postcrete is the stuff to use.

1 bag per post. Its about Ł3.60 a bag, but usually get a deal in B&Q if you buy more than 4.

Steven- never used 2 per post before? Usually once its set, should be able to hard pack the post with muck etc from the hole.

Postcrete. Most builders merchants will sell it or similar. Goes off much quicker than regular cement.

im using 4" posts aswell this only shows up to 3 3/4" posts
12" diamater by 24" deep says 2 and 3/4 bags.if you have a proper tool to get a decent sized hole id use less bags but diggin down with a thin spade isnt easy for that.

Too true mate, does cost a few bob when you add it all up. I just used one iirc, last one i done. Was a while ago tho.
Using 2 reassures it wont fall down lol. Cant have the fence falling on that minty Focus Steven.
