I had a cat 1 sigma one fitted on my old car, that seemed quite good, just a simple one button fob. Think you need to get a company to fit for you so you've got proof for the insurers that your car has an approved alarm.

i fitted a falcon to mine it had all the mods on like window closure and remote start and the thing that tells if there is a person in or near the car (cant remember atm what it's called ) i wouldn't call it easy to fit but got done in a weekend the dash will have to come out to do it properly but this was also on my 92 escort so not exactly as technical as some of the new stuff, and like stated above it'll not be classed as cat1 alarm for the insurance if not done by a proper fitter.
mine was all i needed tbh but then again i just wanted some piece of mind my car had no real value so wasn't much chance of being pinched

Sigma as mentioned are fine, they OWN toad after all, but the toad ai606 is a ace alarm, the previous ai600 was better, me personally I would go for a C5T2, which is a 2-1 upgrade, still car 1 if fitted by correct people.
If you don't get any discount for the alarm fit it yourself, dead easy to fit easy to set up, take a wee while to do properly, but so long as ok around wires nothing hard.
Buy a NEW one though, the new ones have a much better digital link to the immobiliser.
I can email you all the settings changes, as you won't get these with the alarm.
You may want to enable the chirp feature for example, as they come in silent mode(arm/disarm) the chirp is actually ILLEGAL, on new installs due to noise pullution, but easy to turn on, with the 4 number code you will be given with the new alarm.

Another vote for Toad AI606, had one on 3 of my cars and on my civic now, never had one single problem with it and they have never false alarmed etc

ai606 is a ace alarm, as are most toad products, but older ones now beginning to surface with a few problems, normally caused by the NI-CD(back up) battery pack leaking due to age, or losing settings, if caught early enough they can be replaced with the vastly superior NI-MH, only very early ai606, had the NI-CD packs, these were then NI-MH packs as NI-CD was outlawed.
First sign of trouble is the alarm for no reason going to default mode settings, ie suddenly it starts auto door locking upon starting whereas you may have have it turned off before, siren chirp on arm/disarm may go silent.
Easy cheap fix though, but don't expect any problems before 8-10 years old due to the NI-CD batteries anyway.

Are Sigma still going as I have one of their alarms sat here that just needs a new loom and fitting up to my runabout. Rescued it from the old estate when I sold it
